Learn & Give Free Rice!

Fight world hunger at FreeRice.com...and possibly learn a new word or two in the process! At Free Rice, you are given a word that is followed by four possible definitions. Each word that you match correctly, equals 20 grains of rice that Free Rice will donate, through the United Nations! How easy it is to help those in need! Of course, if you have the money to donate that's wonderful, BUT if you are like me and have none to spare, you can play this game and help to feed those in poverty. The site also allows you to determine your vocab level. You can make it easy, so that you know you'll get them all correct, or you can challenge yourself. Either way, the site offers an excellent way to help others! Visit whenever you have some free time: www.freerice.com.

Unwanted Gift Cards

If you've ever received an unwanted gift card or you'd rather just have some cash, then take a look at http://giftcardbuyback.com/. I received two gift cards in the mail for some website I signed up to and was unable to use them (they were gas cards and I could not locate that particular gas station nearby). Each card had a value of $10. I went onto giftcardbuyback.com and was able to sell them for $8 each. So, instead of $20 worth of gas, I received $16 cash. I went on the website, entered my info, and mailed my cards in to the address provided. It did not even take two weeks and then I had my money. If you'd rather of some cash or you just can't use the cards that have been given to you, then you can take a look at this site!

Oh, one other similar site I found is http://www.swapagift.com/. Here you can donate, sell or swap your gift cards. I've never used it though, so I cannot vouch for it as I did the site above.

Get Rid of the SPAM!

Are you tired of all the SPAM??? If so, you should take a look at www.mailinator.com. It allows you to create a disposable e-mail address for whenever you need it. Just pick a name and add @mailinator.com OR choose an alternate domain (listed on the site).

Next, give out your new address...use it on forums or anywhere else you don't want to give your real address. I tend to do a lot of GPT's (get paid to sites), and find this is extremely useful when signing up for new offers. It definitely cuts down on all of the unwanted emails that follow. If you are tired of creating different gmail accounts, then mailinator is the way to go.

The last step is checking your email. You have several options:

  • check your mailbox from the site
  • via RSS
  • via widget
  • or via your web browser

Very simple...no registration, no passwords and a lot less spam in your real inbox. Try it for free!

My short introduction...

I wanted to create this blog as a way to share the sites/products I've been finding. It seems that I'm always stumbling across something new (new to me, at least) and I want others to know about it as well. Some will be websites and others will be products that I find. I may also list online programs here as well...I will try to keep these to a minimum, because I have another blog and also a website (click here) that I've listed these types of programs on. But, if I find one that is absolutely wonderful, then I'll post it here too. I hope others will find what I share of some interest. Thanks for stopping by!
